The Ancient Legend of Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi
Here we will know about the popular story of Kalka Mata Mandir. Thousands of years ago, deities inhabited the Suryakoot Parvat of the Aravalli Hills of Delhi.
Today at that place, the temple of Mother Kalkaji is present. At that time, two tyrannical demons named Shumbha and Nishumbha, were also lived there. They used to harass deities every time. Due to their atrocities, deities were feared.
For the help of deities from the atrocities of Shumbha and Nishumbha, Goddess Parvati took the form of Kalka Mata and killed both those demons.
The deities were very pleased to hear the news of Shumbha and Nishumbha’s death.
Then after requested by the deities, Ma Kalika in the form of Pindi resided on the Mount SuryaKoot. Later a large temple of Kalka Mata was built there. Today in Delhi, Kalkaji Temple is one of the oldest temples in India.
